This page describes what DeployPick actually does with data — matching the implementation, not marketing boilerplate. Last reviewed 2026-10-31.
What we measure
DeployPick records simple usage events — for example that a page was viewed, that someone started or finished refining deployment requirements, that a recommendation card was shown, or that a provider link was clicked. Each event carries only: the event type, a timestamp, the page path (no query string), and a random session id. Recommendation-related events also carry the provider id, its rank, the score scope, the cost-coverage state, and a coarse project category (such as “web app” or “static site”) derived from the requirement fields you selected.
The session id is a random UUID stored in your browser's session storage for the current tab only. It exists to connect the steps of one decision session; it is deleted when you close the tab, and it never identifies you across visits, devices, or other sites.
What we do not collect
- No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising or third-party analytics scripts.
- No account, email, or personal identifier anywhere in the product.
- Our events never contain your IP address, browser fingerprint, raw user agent, free-form text, or the contents of the requirement form.
One honest caveat: our hosting, DNS, and analytics-collection providers operate their own request logs, which may retain IP addresses and user agents at the infrastructure level. We do not control those logs, so we do not claim our processing is fully anonymous.
AI description parsing (off by default)
The optional “describe your project” feature sends the text you type to a configured third-party AI provider to extract requirement fields. That text is not stored by DeployPick, nothing else is sent with it, and no recommendation is ever generated by AI — results always come from the deterministic engine. This feature is disabled unless the deployment has explicitly configured it; the homepage tells you when it is off. Please do not paste secrets or personal data into any text box here.
Leaving for a provider
Provider links go through our own redirect hop (https://deploypick.com/go/…) so we can count that a specific recommendation was acted on. The hop adds short referral parameters (which surface you came from and the recommendation rank) visible in the URL you land on. Once you leave, the destination provider's own privacy policy applies. We may earn commissions from provider links in the future — the footer always states the current policy, and commissions never influence scores or rankings.
Your controls and our retention
Blocking requests to this site (for example with a content blocker) stops measurement without breaking any feature — ranking, cost estimates, and comparisons never depend on it. Events are delivered best-effort and retained according to the analytics configuration of this deployment; we do not sell or share them with advertisers.
